1934-A ULTRA RARE LATE FINISH PLATE 307 *BLUE SEAL* US Silver Certificate AU

Up for sale is the ultra rare key of all small size silver certificates!!! This is a true trophy note! It is the 1934-A Silver Certificate Blue Seal printed with the scarce Late Finished Plate 307. This printing plate started being engraved as a series 1934 (plain) in 1936 during the era of the micro size plate numbers. For some reason it was set aside or lost for several years and not finished. When it was rediscovered in 1942, it was completed as a 1934-A plate but kept its low number 307, versus most of the plates printing at this time were numbered in the 1500s-1700s.
What makes this note especially rare is that the plate was put into service just before they began the run of Yellow Seal North Africa notes. Almost the entire service life of the plate printed those notes. It is estimated that Blue Seal notes printed with LFP 307 are 30x rarer than their Yellow Seal counterparts. Late finished plates are scarce and a really neat variety. There are only 14 known surviving notes in the PMG population report, and this one is nicer than most! This is the first circulated example to be offered on the market in 2 years! That is insane rare!
This note grades a sharp AU in my opinion. Crisp, clean paper and rich, original colors on the overprint. Shows one horizontal fold and no other marks. That should comfortably put this note around AU-55. This note still has great eye appeal! Please check scans and judge grade for yourself. Don't miss this opportunity to get a higher grade example of this never-seen variety! Similar AU examples sold at Heritage auction for ,057.50 (April 2015), and ,725 (April 2008). The only other examples to come up for sale in the last couple years were a pair of Uncirculated notes auctioned last month for ,800 and ,560. This note is also the only example I can find in records from the batch printed before the Yellow Seals. All in all a truly unique trophy that pretty much no one has in their collection, not even big name millionaire collections. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
