    Description

A pair of Georgia State Seal Buttons still attached to Butternut Jacket pieces.
    A Rare Find Indeed.
Found in the early days at what they call "The Measles Camp" in Centerville, Virginia.
Many Georgia contracted the measles during the winter of 1861-62,
Their uniforms were burned or buried to help prevent the spread of the disease.
    Never been cleaned!!!!
Notice in the pictures where a small bit of normal excavated button crude flacked off revealing that these untouched buttons are loaded with Gold.
A ONE OF A KIND FIND FOR YOUR COLLECTION.
Both buttons were found together, thus they get sold together.
These buttons these to be Albert's # GA 1.
Also note: Buttons are still fastened through the button holes in the fabric...this means the jacket was buried buttoned up... maybe removed over a sick soldiers head.
