LM3414 and LM3414HV are 1A 60W (1) universal anode function constant current step-down LED driver. They are suitable for driving single strings of 3W HBLEDs with efficiencies up to 96%. They accept input voltages from 4.5 VDC to 65 VDC and provide an average LED current of up to 1A with an accuracy of ±3%. The integrated low-side N-channel power MOSFET and current detection element realize a simple circuit with a small number of components, because no bootstrap capacitor and external current detection resistor are required. The grounded external small signal resistor can provide very fine LED current adjustment, analog dimming and thermal foldback function.
Constant switching frequency operation can reduce EMI. No external loop compensation network is required. Proprietary Pulse Level Modulation (PLM) control method helps to improve conversion efficiency and true average LED current regulation. The fast response time can achieve fine LED current pulses and meet the 240 Hz 256-step dimming resolution requirements of general lighting.
LM3414 and LM3414HV are available in SOIC-8 and 3 mm×3 mm WSON-8 packages.
