Vintage Aurora U.S.S. Halford Destroyer Kit - cat. 480 - 1956 Issue - Rare!

This is an
Aurora U.S.S. Halford Fletcher Class Destroyer
kit, cat. no. 480.
One of Aurora's earliest kits, it was released in 1956.  The box shows a fair amount of storage wear, but it's solid with no split corners.  There is a puncture hole at the word "Fletcher" and some rubber band residue at the midpoint of the hull (see photo), but the box will still display nicely.  There are a few holes in the bottom portion of the box.
There has been some assembly, but it appears that most of the pieces are present.  The bottom portion of the hull is painted red.  Instructions, decals, and a dedicated signal flag sheet (very rare!) included.   A nice opportunity to own a piece of Aurora Plastics history.
